ABOUT THE WEEKEND FILM SCHOOLpad

In just one weekend, you will learn the entire aspects of independent filmmaking - pre-production, scriptwriting and storyboarding, cinematography, directing, and budgeting and scheduling.

This is not a class where you sit through boring lectures. You will work "hands-on" with cameras, storyboards, lights, microphones, and editing software. You will shoot a "super short film", edit it yourself, and take your project home with you.

Because we limit the class size to just 6 students, you will be able to work closely with the equipment and instructors. The only things you have to bring are your passion and your great ideas.

WHAT YOU CAN LEARN IN JUST TWO DAYSpad

After completion of the Weekend Film School, you will be prepared to write, produce, and direct your own low-budget feature film, documentary, or short film. You may be interested in producing your own instructional videos, reality-type shows, or TV shows. You will have all the skills needed to get started on these projects.

We are located in lower Manhattan at 121 Fulton Street. We are just a few blocks away from the offices of Robert De Niro, Martin Scorsese, and The Tribeca Film Festival.

If you want to extend your stay an extra day or two, we can certainly help you with local tours, shopping, and New York sightseeing. Just let us know what you'd like to do and see in New York and we can make it happen.

If you need help in travel, lodging, or overall New York City advice, we're happy to help you make arrangements. Most of our students do not live in New York City.
